FRA ///

ENG ///
"Coup de tête", is the kind of movie that, once you’ve watched it, never leaves you, ever. Isn't that the substance of a cult? François Perrin is the main character is portrayed by Patrick Dewaere, a football player of Trincamp club who is essentially a romantic hero, the only pure at heart in the face of hostility and meanness from the elders and the populace of a city in the "France from below". A role that fits like a second skin to his interpreter whose biography proves to us that he too was in search of an absolute and quite unable to accommodate with the "small arrangements" imposed by "adult" age. The main theme of Jean-Jacques Annaud’s film too continues to haunt you long after its viewing. A real stroke of genius that, like the themes of the Third Man or Macadam Cowboy, are inseparable from their anti-heroes.

When we mention Pierre Bachelet's name, the average listener thinks of songs like Les Corons or L’An 2001. Yet these are the trees hiding a forest of compositions for the cinema industry, the most famous of which were written for films such as Emmanuelle, Histoire d'O and Gwendoline. The most curious ones also enjoy his recordings for the Resonance project whose 1976 album is a Disco UFO produced in France but calibrated for international markets and which above all announces the French Touch, just thirty years earlier. One can guess that Thomas Bangalter of Daft Punk got his hands on this album through his father, Daniel Vangarde, producer of cosmic disco.

Pierre Bachelet with his "Coup de Tête" theme that he declines throughout his soundtrack manages to transcribe this provincial spleen where the horizon is blocked by endless Sundays during which thrives the romanticism of the Dewaerian hero, symbol of the living skinned, the young blazé adult post May 1968. Jean Bouise alias Sivardière when he says: "I maintain eleven fools to make them calm down eight hundred others who are just waiting for an opportunity to to get agitated. "sums up well all the polyester sadness of this Peripheral France at the end of the 1970s. But cheer up! There's this heady music made to measure for Dewaere who reminds us that sometimes the individual and his madman hope triumphs over the mass. En avant Trincamp !
